Oh Cherry, Cherry!

Are you looking for a food to help aid in the recovery of sore joints and muscles from all of the new activities you have been trying this summer?  Try cherries!  Cherries are a super fruit that are packed with anti oxidants called anthocyanins which are known to reduce inflammation.  Because of their anti inflammatory benefits, cherries can help reduce pain and joint soreness to the effect of taking an anti inflammatory drug.  These anti inflammatory benefits also aide in reducing heart disease and cancer.  Cherries also are one of the few fruits that contain melatonin which helps regulate your body’s sleep cycle.  All great benefits when you are out and active this summer!  Michigan is the largest producer of tart cherries, which contain the highest amounts of the beneficial anti oxidants so I will be gobbling them up while I am here.  Sweet or tart cherries are both beneficial but they wont be here for long so get them while you can.   More great bennys:
